Advocacy Café… a series of 30-minute sessions designed to inspire ideas and stimulate discussion about advocacy! Free for SAA Members!

Session 3: Developing Your Message: Doing the Data

Go beyond the “we need money/staff/space” syndrome in your advocacy efforts with the new Advocacy Café webinar series.

As discussed in previous sessions, advocacy needs to have a clear purpose, and focus on a specific audience. This is followed by developing an effective message that will “speak” to their interest and engage support/agreement.

This webinar will focus on how archivists engage audiences by:

  • Providing compelling information
  • Demonstrating outcomes and impact
  • Using accurate, supportable data

Who Should Attend? Archivists, librarians, and museum curators at any experience level who need greater skills in advocating for archival programs and issues.

Knowledge Assumed for this Class: No prior experience is necessary.

Invite your colleagues, students, or staff to join you in learning together—in the convenience of your conference room, office, or classroom. Gather around a laptop and speaker phone to get the information and tools to adapt your skills to successfully advocate for your archives and your profession!
